[EN] The Public Prosecutor's Office is a constitutionally relevant body whose mission is to promote the action of justice and defend legality, as well as the public interest protected by law. It is the institution that holds the public prosecution with the aim of redressing the rights that have been violated and to constitute itself as the guarantor of the prevalence of morality and equity, remaining within the limits set by the law. This legitimisation granted by the Constitution would not present any criticism were it not for the interference and meddling that the Executive has been showing over time in the Public Prosecutor's Office and, specifically, in the Attorney General's Office, leading to an overlap between the legal and political status of this figure. The fine line separating the proper function conferred on this post from the interests that shape the ideology of the government that appointed it is becoming increasingly blurred. Nevertheless, and in spite of everything, it is inevitable to recognise the excellence of this institution, which aspires to become the future investigator of the process.
