AB Avianus, unknown writer of fables and hardly cited in the LAtin literature books, plays an important role in the transmission of the Greek´Latin fable. His work, full of the previous tradition, with a new metre into the didactic literature, has been the link of the chain between the antiquity and the Middle Ages.
