Heredabilidad y parámetros ambientales del peso y crecimiento en corderos lactantes de parto simple

Abstract

A partir de 2.188 registros de corderos de raza Churra se ha estimado la heredabilidad y los parámetros ambientales del peso al nacimiento, peso al destete y ritmo de crecimiento en la fase predestete. La heredabilidad ha sido estimada a partir de un diseño de medios hermanos. Para los análisis estadísticos se ha seguido el método de mínimos cuadrados (LS) y el de máxima verosimilitud (ML). Las estimaciones que se han obtenido para las variables indicadas, peso al nacimiento, peso al destete y ritmo de crecimiento en la fase predestete, han sido, respectivamente: 0,29 + 0,07, 0,17 + 0,05 y 0,16 + 0,05. Para el peso al nacimiento, peso al destete y ritmo de crecimiento predestete, los factores de variación ambiental rebaño, año de parto y sexo mostraron una influencia estadísticamente altamente significativa. Para el peso al destete, la edad del cordero fue en nuestro estudio el factor de variación más importante, explicando el 13,7% de la varianza total. Para el peso al destete y el ritmo de crecimiento predestete, la estación de parto fue un factor estadísticamente altamente significativo mientras el número de lactación de la madre lo fue sobre el peso al nacimiento y al destete.

Data on 2188 Churra lambs were used to estimate heritability and environmental parameters for birth weight, weaning weight and pre-weaning daily gain. The study was carried out on lambs born and reared single. The heritability was estimated by paternal half-sib analyses. Data were statistically analysed by least squares (LS) and maximum likelihood (ML) procedures. Heritability estimates for birth weight, weaning weight and pre-weaning daily gain were: 0,29 + 0,07, 0,17 + 0,05 and 0,16 + 0,05, respectively. For birth weight, weaning weight and pre-weaning daily gain, the environmental factors flock, year of birth, and sex of lamb were statistically highly significative. For weaning weight, age at weaning was the most important factor of variation, explaining 13,7% of the total variation. For weaning weight and pre-weaning daily gain, season lambing was found to be a highly significative variation factor while the lactation number of dam was a highly significative variation factor on birth weight and weaning weight.
