Análisis económico-financiero del sector aéreo. Lufthansa versus Air France-KLM versus Grupo IAG

Abstract

[ES] En la actualidad, son muchos los retos a los que se enfrenta el sector del transporte aéreo de pasajeros, tales como el coste del combustible, el desarrollo de las nuevas tecnologías, la elevada concentración competitiva o la emisión de CO2, sin olvidar el impacto sin precedentes que supuso la pandemia sanitaria de COVID-19. Por ello, su actividad y evolución, y en especial sus cuentas anuales consolidadas, se han convertido en una fuente valiosa de información desde el punto de vista económico-financiero. Con el fin de profundizar en la evolución de este sector e interpretar su situación actual, este trabajo aplica un análisis económico-financiero comparativo sobre tres de los grupos empresariales más destacados del sector: Deutsche Lufthansa, Air France-KLM e International Airlines Group.

[EN] Currently, there are many challenges threatening the passenger air transport industry, such as the fuel cost, the development of new technologies, the strong market concentration or the CO2 emissions, not to mention the unprecedented impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, its activity and evolution, and especially its annual consolidated financial statements, have become a valuable source of information from an economic and financial point of view. In order to analyze in more detail the industry evolution and to understand its current situation, this work applies a comparative economic-financial analysis to the three more distinguished business groups of the industry: Deutsche Lufthansa, Air France-KLM and International Airlines Group.
