AB El monasterio benedictino femenino de Santa María de Carbajal ha desarrollado su actividad en el entorno leonés ininterrumpidamente desde la primera mitad del siglo X hasta nuestros días. Nacido junto al palacio real de la capital leonesa, se trasladó en 1148 a la localidad de Carbajal de la Legua, regresando a la ciudad de León en 1600. En el ejercicio de sus funciones ha generado la documentación que custodia su archivo, siendo este la herramienta fundamental utilizada en la gestión del patrimonio monástico. En la tesis se presenta la organización del archivo monástico, incluyendo la descripción multinivel de los fondos, además de realizar el análisis archivístico de sus series documentales. Asimismo se lleva a cabo un estudio del organismo productor y se profundiza en la historia del archivo. = The benedictine female monastery of Santa María de Carbajal has developed its activity in the land of Leon from the first half of the 10th century to the present day. It was born next to the royal palace in León city. It moved in 1148 to the village of Carbajal de la Legua, and It returned to the city of León in 1600. Working in its functions, It has generated the documentation that is kept in its archive. This archive has been the principal tool used in the management of monastic heritage. In this thesis, the organization of the monastic archive is presented, including a multilevel description of the funds, and an archival analysis of its documentary series. Likewise, a study of the producing organism is carried out and the history of the archive is studied in depth.
