Medio ambiente K1 Zoología K1 Aphids K1 Greenidea K1 Costa Rica AB The genusGreenideacomprises about 45 EastAsian species of pear-shaped aphids with 6-segmentedantennae, long hairy and pale reticulatedsiphunculi, rounded cauda with a median processusand 7.7.7 setae on first tarsal segments (Sugimoto2008). The alatae viviparous females aremore long-bodied and have longer siphunculithan the apterous ones. About half the species areincluded in subgenusTrichosiphum, in which thereticulation of the siphunculi is confined to thebasal region. The genus occurs from Japan toEastern Australia and from India to the Philippines(Blackman & Eastop 1994, 2006; Sugimoto2008). They are mainly tree-living aphids andtheir biology is little known and sexual forms aregenerally unrecorded.
