dc.description.abstract | During the 18th century, the town of Salamanca was one of the most important places of the Spanish silverwork. Some of the greatest silversmiths from there went to work to the cathedral of Ávila, called by the bishops and incumbents of the church. The first of them was Luis de Torres y Baeza, who left in Ávila his better pieces, and whose work and life are still almost unknown. | es_ES |
