Del nivel interpersonal al nivel morfosintáctico en algunas cartas de sor María de Jesús de Ágreda = From the interpersonal to the morphosyntactic level: some Sister María de Jesús de Ágreda’s letters.

Abstract

El objetivo del presente artículo es profundizar en el conocimiento del funcionamiento de la relación epistolar entre sor María de Jesús de Ágreda y los Borja, por un lado, y ella y el rey Felipe IV, por otro. Para ello, partiendo de la gramática funcional del discurso y de la interrelación social entre los interlocutores, analizamos ciertos mecanismos exofóricos referidos a los participantes. La principal conclusión confirma la forzada formalidad de las cartas dirigidas al monarca frente la familiaridad expresada en las epístolas destinadas a los aristócratas.

The aim of this paper is to expand our knowledge about how the epistolary relationship takes place between Sister María de Jesús de Ágreda and Francisco and Fernando de Borja, on the one side, and the writer and King Philip IV, on the other. For this, we analyze certain exophoric mechanisms referred to the participants, taking into account some main aspects of the Functional Discourse Grammar and the social interrelation among the writers. The main conclusion highlights the forced formality of the letters addressed to the monarch against the familiarity expressed in the epistles sent to the aristocrats.
