Ajudar no culto da salvaçao das almas em Braga: os "servos" das confrarias bracarenses do século XVIII

Abstract

[PT] Neste artigo describimos, dentro de la analisis de la temática de la muerta y de la salvacion de la ánima en la ciudad de Braga, en lo siglo XVIII, el papel desempenado por un grupo de hombres que trabajavan para las confradias desta ciudad. Estos hombres eran llamados “siervos” y tenian a su encargo desempenar tareas cultuales para sus instituciones, ayudando as en las celebraciones religiosas en favor de los muertos.

[EN] In this article we want to present, on the analysis of the thematic of death and soul salvation in the city of Braga in the XVIII century, the role made by one group of men that worked for the confraternities sieged on this city. These men were called “serfs” and they hard to perform cultual and laboring tasks for their institutions, helping then in the religious celebrations on behalf of the dead.
