Abstract
EN] The literary traditions apparent in the prose of medieval Spanish literature at the end of the 14th century and the start of the 15th century cannot be separated from the principal manifestation of poetry in that era. Authors and readers of lyrical genres and fictional narratives live in the same cultural and literary environment and are connected by mutual influence and interdependence, both at the moment of creation and the moment of reception. Until today, little inquiry has been made regarding the inclusion of references to the prose of courtly fiction (arthurian and chivalric fiction, carolingean fiction) in chansonnier poetry that was created and spread in that same environment. The present article is intended to rectify this by deepening our understanding of the characters and issues at play, and the breadth of Francisco Imperial’s literary knowledge, both with respect to the texts themselves and their dissemination. This has particularly special importance in indicating what works succeeded in the context of the first Castilian Trastamarans’ royal court
