Francisco Imperial: Poesía de cancionero y prosa de ficción en tiempos de los primeros Trastámara castellanos

Abstract

[ES] Las tradiciones literarias que recorren la prosa de ficción de la literatura medieval española a fines del siglo catorce y comienzos del quince no pueden desligarse de la principal manifestación poética de la época. Autores y destinatarios de los géneros líricos y narrativos de ficción viven en un mismo ámbito cultural y literario y no son ajenos a una mutua influencia e interdependencia, tanto en el momento de la creación como en el de la recepción. Hasta la fecha apenas se ha indagado acerca de la inclusión de referencias a la prosa de ficción carolingia, artúrica y caballeresca del ámbito cortesano en la poesía cancioneril que se desarrolla y difunde en ese mismo entorno, laguna que en este trabajo se pretende paliar con un estudio sobre la poesía de Francisco Imperial que tenga en cuenta los nombres propios de los personajes, los asuntos tratados y los conocimientos literarios del autor y los receptores y que pueda iluminar qué obras de ficción tuvieron éxito en la corte real.

EN] The literary traditions apparent in the prose of medieval Spanish literature at the end of the 14th century and the start of the 15th century cannot be separated from the principal manifestation of poetry in that era. Authors and readers of lyrical genres and fictional narratives live in the same cultural and literary environment and are connected by mutual influence and interdependence, both at the moment of creation and the moment of reception. Until today, little inquiry has been made regarding the inclusion of references to the prose of courtly fiction (arthurian and chivalric fiction, carolingean fiction) in chansonnier poetry that was created and spread in that same environment. The present article is intended to rectify this by deepening our understanding of the characters and issues at play, and the breadth of Francisco Imperial’s literary knowledge, both with respect to the texts themselves and their dissemination.
