RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 Formative assessment, work regulation, organization, engagement, tracking and attendance in Spanish Universities T2 Evaluación formativa, regulación del trabajo, organización, compromiso, seguimiento y asistencia en Universidades Españolas A1 Hortigüela Alcalá, David A1 Fernández Río, Javier A1 Castejón Oliva, Francisco Javier A1 Pérez Pueyo, Ángel Luis A2 Educacion Fisica y Deportiva K1 Educación Física K1 Learning K1 Higher education K1 Formative assessment K1 58 Pedagogía AB [EN] TheAssessmentSystemsScale,a34-­‐itemquestionnaire,wasprovenarobust,reliableandvalidinstrumenttoevaluateassessmentproceduresattheuniversitylevel.However,thesampleusedtovalidateitwasrathersmall,andpropervalidationofinstrumentsrequirestestingonmultipleindependentsamples.Thecurrentstudyevaluatedthereliabilityandthevalidityofareducedversion,23items,oftheinstrument,aswellasitsinteractions.Study1examinedthevalidityandreliabilityofthereducedversionoftheAssessmentSystemScaleinalargesampleofSpanishuniversitystudents.3.428studentsand52teachersfrom17differentuniversitiesacrossSpainagreedtoparticipate.Resultsshoweda3-­‐factorstructureandhighinternalconsistency(α=.835).InStudy2descriptiveandinferentialstatisticsshowedthatformativeassessmentsignificantlylinkedstudents’workregulationandorganization,engagement,trackingandattendance.Studentswhoparticipatedinformativeassessmentunderstoodhownecessarywasclassattendance,becauseitfavouredengagementand,asaconsequence,betterregulationandcontentintegrationthroughouttheteaching-­‐learningprocess.Asignificantrelationshipwasfoundbetweenpeerreviewandmoreeffectivefeedbacktoimprovetaskunderstanding.Moreover,thedefinitionofclearassessmentcriteriacorrelatedpositivelywithindividualorgroupworkregistration.Differentlevelsofself-­‐regulatedworkwasfounddependingonthestudents’universitydegree.Itseemsnecessarytoimplementformativeassessmentsystemswithtoolsandproceduresthatensureanalternativetomoretraditionalmethodologicalapproaches.
