AB [EN] TheAssessmentSystemsScale,a34-­‐itemquestionnaire,wasprovenarobust,reliableandvalidinstrumenttoevaluateassessmentproceduresattheuniversitylevel.However,thesampleusedtovalidateitwasrathersmall,andpropervalidationofinstrumentsrequirestestingonmultipleindependentsamples.Thecurrentstudyevaluatedthereliabilityandthevalidityofareducedversion,23items,oftheinstrument,aswellasitsinteractions.Study1examinedthevalidityandreliabilityofthereducedversionoftheAssessmentSystemScaleinalargesampleofSpanishuniversitystudents.3.428studentsand52teachersfrom17differentuniversitiesacrossSpainagreedtoparticipate.Resultsshoweda3-­‐factorstructureandhighinternalconsistency(α=.835).InStudy2descriptiveandinferentialstatisticsshowedthatformativeassessmentsignificantlylinkedstudents’workregulationandorganization,engagement,trackingandattendance.Studentswhoparticipatedinformativeassessmentunderstoodhownecessarywasclassattendance,becauseitfavouredengagementand,asaconsequence,betterregulationandcontentintegrationthroughouttheteaching-­‐learningprocess.Asignificantrelationshipwasfoundbetweenpeerreviewandmoreeffectivefeedbacktoimprovetaskunderstanding.Moreover,thedefinitionofclearassessmentcriteriacorrelatedpositivelywithindividualorgroupworkregistration.Differentlevelsofself-­‐regulatedworkwasfounddependingonthestudents’universitydegree.Itseemsnecessarytoimplementformativeassessmentsystemswithtoolsandproceduresthatensureanalternativetomoretraditionalmethodologicalapproaches.
